LAWS OF ATTRACTION

I read my friend's blog yesterday, and found him posting something interesting bout what gurls should do to get boys going crazy over em, so i sort of got inspired to write what i think boys should do to make girls stick to em like glue. but of course, this is only an opinion, a lot of generalization going on here, haha.

i had this friend in high school, he had like the hottest chick in school as his girlfriend, and he didn't even try. He even treated the girl like she was dirt sometimes. that always made me curious, "what the heck does she see in him?". haha. but it seems that under that "bad boy" mask the dude had, he really understood the way the world goes round, get what i mean?

ATTRACTION LAW 1: "Gimme my game!"

ARgggggrrrrr....
AAAAAHH!
I would raise my fist to the heavens and shout: "By the powers of Gromthar, I shall possess her!"
We want what we cannot have.
ATTRACTION LAW #2: "Just a little Memento..."
If we DON'T know what's going to happen, we find it attractive.
ATTRACTION LAW #3: "She will come around..."

If it's perceived as establishing safety and comfort - we are attracted to it.

I have a lot of friends that started from being friend to good firends, then close friends, then boyfriends and girlfrieds, and some of em even evolved into siamese twins (they'll always be together, i mean always!! haha). Its true that different people are attracted to different kinds of things and usually one couple wont have the same love story with another, but out of talking with em, the had a similar pattern. They either eat regularly, skype regularly, have dinner together regularly, or anything else that ends with regularly.  They feel safe and comfortable with each other, and eventually, it hit's the big question whether they want to go 'exclusive' or not. this goes to show the third law:

VidEo Veek

Haha, lol, the title's suppose to mean video week. I just put a little Indian accent i learnt from a friend. This weeks assignment was that we had to create our own video, I mean, videos and make our own movie. How cool is that!! You get to be your own director and get an audience for free. Personally, i think that this is a very useful assignment coz it's really fun discovering movie maker and plus, it's easy. You could probably see that most videos posted on YouTube are edited in movie maker, proving just how applicable this knowledge really is.
Unfortunately, although we had the chance to become directors, we also had to become our own actors, scrip writers, props, and all that. so the yelling part in directing really hits u back in the face, haha. I hope Dr.Sexton and Nick both liked my video, coz I tried my best and wow, I have a pretty thick accent. Nevertheless, i enjoyed every minute of the short lived Directing life I had, haha. I feel like I'm gonna try and make one for next year's mothers day, hope my mum nows how to unzip files, lol. Good idea eh? Hope so.

A hectic Week

Aloha people!! Sorry i haven't posted in quite a while. It's been such a busy week, but that would just be giving an excuse really. The funny thing about the courses i'm taking this semester is, whenever there's gonna be exams for whatever class i'm taking, it's all gotta be on the same week!! lol. and this coming week, there's gonna be two exams, and one major difficult HTML project And I tell ya, the exams aren't getting any easier. haha.
I'm just finishing my video project and hopefully, i can cope with the rest of the weekend without passing out, haha. I have a few interesting topics I might post to cover up the weeks i didn't, so tune in. alright, gotta run, have an academic advising session with Dr.Swortzel. Take care!

ITALiaNO SaTurDAY

We had PIZZA, we Had Spagetti, We had Pasta, the only thing left was some Italian music, and it would've been an Italian restaurant!! Hey guys, its been a while since i last posted, coz its really been a hectic week actually.

First of All, ITS GETTING COOOLLLDD!!! burghhh..
for you guys, it may just be your regular fall wind, wearing shorts wouldn't be a problem.
But for us who are used to bathing ourselve's with the sun's warmth all year long, this cold weather is really making us rattle like moroccos!! My nose gets red as soon as i step out the door, hahaha. It's nice to experience something new though, now we know whats happening on the other side of the world! ( And I thought they were wearing bikini's all year long, lol, kidding).

So wassup with the Italiano title? Let me fill you in on this.
When we first arrived here, we were like little turtle hatch-lings struggling to move towards the ocean. We totally didn't know what we were doing!! forunately, a lot of our friends helped us find that ocean (this is soo tacky), lol. they protected us from all the predators and gave us lessons on how to survive and enjoy this vast, new ocean, called USA. And we learned a lot. So, we decided to invite them to hang out at our place for lunch. thanks you guys =)

We took pictures as soon as we were done cooking.
We were still waiting for our Pizza's though.
We made spaghetti (duhh) and some fried noodles (Asian Style)
Just look how excited i was looking at the food, LOL

THE PIZZA ARRIVED, YUMMY!!!
This dudes name is Shokir, his from Uzbekistan
(don't worry, i haven't been there also, haha)
He's a real good friend, he takes us too Wal Mart and S.E.D
cool dude, we laugh a lot, haha.

open wide!! AAAAA

Picture Time Guys!!
Among these are an American, Indian, Pakistanian, Uzbek, and Indonesians.
Go FIGURE!
It's like a United Nations conference, while eating PIZZA, hahaha.

Ummummphh, looks like our creation's smelling good yeah!

We talked about a lot of stuff, from international to local issues
We had fun guys, (although all the faces look tense)

Thanks for coming guys, hope u enjoyed the food!

haha, I dont know why these pictures don't seem nearly as fun as the actual hang out we had. All that food you saw above, swoosh!!, gone! haha, we're looking forward to maybe do this again sometime, a BIGGER one. Don't worry, you'll definitely be on the invite list. Till next time, c ya =)

InSpiRing Words

This week a lot happened. We finally got our furniture, a 27" TV for just $50, beds(finally!!) for free, and a lot of other stuff thanks to the charity give away near Aiken Village. It's really great what there doing to help international students down there, we really appreciate it. It gives us such a bonus for not needing to buy furniture, we could use the money for more important purposes such as the College Tuition, duhh..lol. But the cherry on top of my weekend was when I found this quatation. It had a background of an old man with eyes filled with sorrow and tiresome, as if he'd lost his will to live. I hope you guys get something from this, I surely got alot.

"First, I was dying to finish school and start college,
And then I was dying to finish college and start working,
Then I was dying to marry and have children,
And then I was dying for my children to grow enough so i could go back to work,
But then I was dying to retire,
And now I am dying,
And Suddenly I realized,
I forgot to live."

Please don't let this happen to you,
apreciate your current situation and enjoy each day =).

Sincerely,
Akmal.

Lively Live Classroom

The live classroom was a great experience! I think we should do it more often. learning from the convenience of our home or wherever we wanna be is practically the most conducive way of learning there is for me. plus, all the tools provided make it feel just like we're in class. as a matter of fact, in some ways, it lets us express more of ourselves and promotes a more interactive learning environment. You could tell from the number of responses the student gave compared to in a 4 walled room.
This is totally not meant in a judgmental way, but just to emphasize on how much fun and beneficial virtual learning can be. I'm already looking forward to the next LC session, and hope we'll enjoy it as much as the last one. Alright than, till next entry. Have a good one!

Akmal.

Counting the inches..

When i first came to America there were a lot of things new for me, including the measurements used. So I did a little digging and found out quit interesting things simply about the units we use every day. Did you know?
That the word “ton” is derived from the French “tonnerre,” or “thunder,” from the sound wine barrels made when rolled. But there are various standards of a ton. You get a long ton, a short ton and metric ton. A US ton, the short ton, is equivalent to 2000 pounds (907.185 kilograms). A British ton, the long ton or gross ton, is 2240 pounds (1016.047 kilograms) because there are 112 pounds in their hundredweight.

That the United States, Great Britain and Canada each also had their own definition of the inch. It was only in 1958 that the inch was standardized to 25.4 millimetres exactly. A problem still exists for the foot, where the International Foot is based on the 25.4 mm inch, but the Survey Foot – aka the U.S. Survey Foot – is based on the 25.40005 mm inch. One International Foot equals 0.999998 U.S. Survey Feet. Over 100 miles (160 km) they differ by 1.05 ft (32 cm).

See: Did you know?
